Conditioning
One of the major features of the M2000 concept is its compatibility with any input signal. A wide range of signal conditioners and data amplifiers is available to match all types of transducer or signal source. Standard modules include the following:
M2143 / M2243 is a low voltage Synchro/Resolver to D.C.
converter. It accepts inputs from either a Synchro or a Resolver
and provides a d.c. output proportional to angular position. The
module contains Scott and isolating transformers enabling direct
connection of 26V, 11 .8V and 10.2V systems, with frequency ranges
50Hz to 400Hz.
M2149 / M2249 Carrier Module is a self-contained carrier
oscillator, amplifier, demodulator and active filter. It is primarily
intended for use with LVDTs and variable reluctance transducers.
The carrier oscillator operates at 2V rms 3kHz balanced sine wave
and the input is medium gain differential with facility for operation
in full or half bridge mode. The amplifier input range is 50mV to
5V for full scale output. A high gain version is also available.
M2160 / M2260 is a high gain differential input d.c. amplifier
primarily intended for use with strain gauges, load cells and pressure
transducers. The input configuration enables easy bridge completion
for full, half or quarter bridge installations. The input range
is 500pV to 100mV.
M2161 / M2261 is a high gain differential input d.c.amplifier
intended for use with thermocouples. It includes an easily selected
rate control for matching with various types of thermocouple. The
input range is 1 mV to 100mV for full scale output and with the
external use of a C1061/R connector, will provide cold junction
compensation.
C1061/R is a cold junction module built into
a special connector for use with the M2161 / M2261 or it can be
incorporated within the mainframe.
M2170 / M2270 is a general purpose differential input d.c.
attenuator/amplifier with built-in bridge completion networks for
full, half and quarter bridge configurations. Primarily intended
as a general purpose device for signals in the range 10mV to 125V
for full scale output, the completion network also enables use with
high output bridges. The input range can be extended to 1000V d.c.
with the external use of the C103 connector.
C013 is a special high voltage connector with
integral 60dB balanced attenuator for operation with inputs up to
500V rms.
M2173 / M2273 is a differential input RMS to D.C.
converter. Primarily intended for use with sinusoidal signals in
the range l0mV to 50V rms for full scale output, it converts the
rms value of the input waveform to d.c. When used with the C103
connector, direct connection to the mains supply is enabled. It
is designed for use over the frequency range 40Hz to 10kHz.
M2180 / M2280 is a differential input frequency to
D.C. converter, It is intended for use with dynamic waveforms
such as tachometres, flowmeters, shaft speed sensors, etc. The input
range is l0mV rms to 50V rms which can be extended to 250V rms with
the use of a C103 connector. The module provides a d.c. output proportional
to input frequency and covers the range 50Hz to 10kHz for full scale
output.
Customised Conditioning. Over many years, we have built
up a library of custom specials, many of which can be tailored to
individual requirements. Alternatively, we are always happy to look
at nonstandard signal conditioning if a proprietary amplifier is
not available.
