ME5 is a high performance data acquisition software for mobile applications, optimized for automotive R&D departments.

Project oriented
A powerful new project file format (*.vpj) includes all necessary descriptions for measurement configuration, display parameter setup, user comment and up to 3 data files. For repetitive measurements up to 1000 additional data files can be linked to one project. The archive function stores all linked data files to one archive file and will automatically compress this file. The search function is a smart utility to retrieve projects.

ME4 measurement configuration files and ME3/ME4 data files are compatible to ME5 and can be imported to a ME5 project. The central program navigation window is an excellent way to keep track of a project.

Powerful display modes
Configure 10 "quick access" layouts. Each layout includes up to 4 different powerful display control windows like y(t), X/Y, Numeric, table view etc. Each control window displays up to 64 channels . Tick spacing can be done automatically or manually. The auto-scale feature is available ONLINE and OFFLINE.

Offline data navigation and reference data
ME5 allows to compare the actual data with up to 2 reference data files. Different files length (acquisition time) or sampling rate of the data files are displayed over the same X-axis in one chart. In the envelope display mode ( max/min display) the cursor displays minimum and maximum values of the current cursor position. Screen aliasing due to a mismatch of screen resolution and display pixels is avoided. The powerful panning and zooming mode helps to quickly find points of interest.

Advanced Windows technique

ME5 is designed for the mobile use, so free moving application windows are unfavorable. Advanced docked windows allow for better control of the application sub windows. Resizing and panning of the windows are done automatically and takes advantage of the available screen size.

This splitter technique is also a convenient way to have keyboard control for different views.

Easy to use

ME5 fully follows Windows user interface guidelines. Each menu item can be placed on a customized and moveable toolbar for quick access to the most frequently used features. A powerful table control for parameter setup offers all the common edit features: multi select, copy & paste and the undo/redo function. The keyboard is sufficient to navigate the ME5 Program. (mouse navigation is still available)

The "smart channel insert technique" is an excellent way to control items like data acquisition or trigger channels. The insert bar automatically shows available default setups for the current line.

New Programmers Interface
Programmer could use the ME5 plug in structure to develop their own data im-/export modules or create new offline data processing functions like filter. The interface description is available from B+S Multidata.

High performance driver
A newly designed high performance driver allows to acquire up to 10000 channels with maximal data rate. For long time acquisition use the "DIRECT TO DISK" streaming feature to store Gigabytes of data. Use the multi block mode for repetitive measurements.
Configure the powerful four-step trigger with up to 32 trigger channels for each step. The new tail-trigger (POST POST TRIGGER) to acquire data after the stop trigger. The new sampling rate dialog allows Master / Slave mode for B+S acquisition modules.
